Hello Softball Fans,
GPSP and HOFF would like to let you know about an exciting opportunity for girls Fastpitch Softball in the Bellevue area. We will be having Nebraska’s first USSSA sanctioned league! We are very excited about the possibilities this brings for girls fastpitch in this area. With USSSA, we have solid leadership at all levels, very user friendly websites and a contact that you are able to get an answer from quickly and with HOFF we have the best playing fields around.
We understand that this will be a tremendous undertaking but are very confident that with the knowledge, the USSSA website and the passion for softball that our staff has this will be a success. I wanted to share with you the information that we have at this time and as we move forward we will always be able to communicate by email.
This will be a USSSA sanctioned league, meaning, your team will need to be registered with USSSA, as many of the teams in Nebraska are now registered with USSSA. You do not have to have USSSA insurance to play in this league. But if you chose to, our rates are the lowest in the Nation. For instance if your team is strictly a league team, we can get insurance as low as $39. Now if you play in a tournament outside of this league then your team would need to get the Travel Team insurance like most teams have.
We will use the ISTS system to schedule, keep league standings, report scores, communicate, pay to play in the league, etc…. Teams will earn 100 points for playing in this league. Teams must keep their roster up to date on the ISTS. Teams will have their own webpage created on the ISTS system that can track player awards, stats and roster. On this webpage you will be able to add a team picture.
We will use the USSSA rule book to govern this league. As always if a rule needs some tweaking to make this a better league we can look into it.
Pitching distances will be, 10U-35’, 12U-40’, 13U and up 43’.
Metal cleats- A. (Youth) In all divisions 14 and under and younger, Metal cleats and metal toe plates are prohibited, even if you play up an age group. Softballs will be the USSSA stamped and logo’d Blue stitch ball.
Each team is responsible for providing softballs for their games. Softballs will be available for purchase near the pro shop for $5 per ball or $50 per dozen.
The format for this league will be a 6 week season with a playoff on the 7th week. Teams will play Double Headers one time per week on a selected night for their age division.
We will have an Elite HS league, an open division for A/B teams and a division for just C teams. The 7th week will be a single elimination league championship. Teams will be seeded based upon their order of finish in the league. 1st and 2nd place teams will receive a team trophy and each player will receive an individual trophy. So, all teams will play a minimum of 13 games and depending on how they do in the league championship could play 16 games in league.
The cost for all this is just $700 for a 13-16 GG! That is only $44 -$54 per game! Plus you earn points to help in your teams seeding for the USSSA State Championships and the World Series. This includes umpire fees.
What I need is your feedback to make this the league that your teams will want to play in. The deadline for entry is March 23, 2012. League schedules will be posted by April 2nd on the USSSA National website, the NE State website and an email will be sent to all coaches and players that have an email address in the USSSA ISTS system. League will begin the week of April 16th concluding with the league championship the week of May 28th.
